This is why I'm not watching season 11, apart from Darin Morgan's episode, which was so preposterous it made me laugh. Those lawn darts! Admittedly I have not seen another episode but the acting was mediocre. Duchovny and Anderson phoned it in. Whatever.

"I'm trying not to gripe about it on Tumblr, since most people over there seem to have loved the episode. I just can't quite seem to get on board. Sigh."

I'm not hanging out on Tumblr now: the fandom has demonstrated all along how callous they are about the fate of William's parents, and I cannot countenance that. Your not being able to get on board is a credit to your taste and judgment. Honestly, this episode sounds like the worst kind of bad fanfiction. The very idea that Scully would agree to do an autopsy of her own son is absurd. No mother of a victim would agree to that and no one with any sense would have written that scene. That's beyond disgusting.

I am perversely pleased to hear that William is an asshole and that he's run off on his own, thereby preventing a reunion with M&S. If that stands, it's a slap in the face to the fans who have been clamoring for M&S to "get him back." I thought the pregnancy plot line was a terrible idea from the start and everything that has followed has borne that out.
